Contributed Session Program

The abstract submission period has passed. Thanks for your interest!

The International Biometric Society (IBS) invites abstracts for contributed oral and poster presentations for the 2024 International Biometric Conference (IBC2024) to be held in Atlanta, USA from 8-13 December 2024. Abstracts may be submitted online through 5 April 2024.

The mission of the IBS is ‘to promote the development and application of statistical and mathematical theory and methods in the biosciences, including agriculture, biomedical science and public health, ecology, environmental sciences, forestry and allied disciplines.’ Contributions at the conference are therefore welcome across a wide range of both methodological topics and application areas relevant to the Society’s mission.

Submissions from a broad range of perspectives are encouraged. The below list provides an indication of the methodological topics and application areas that have been covered at previous conferences and will be covered at the upcoming conference:

Submit abstracts online here. All submissions through be through our online submission portal. No other forms of abstracts are permissible. Submit your abstract no later than 05 April, 2024.

Each abstract submission must include the title, abstract, list of authors and author affiliations, with a maximum length of 2,500 characters. A character is defined as any keystroke, including spaces and punctuation.

The number of oral abstract submissions with the same presenting author is limited to one. Please do not submit an abstract if you are a presenter for an invited session or short course.

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the IBC2024 International Program Committee and presenting authors will be informed of the status of their abstract (oral presentation, poster presentation, rejection) by June 2024.

All accepted contributed oral presentations will be assigned to a 14-minute slot with 2-minutes for Q&A within a particular scientific session, with each session lasting 90 minutes, and therefore containing 5 oral presentations and time for discussion. All poster presentations will also be allocated to a particular scientific poster session. Presenting authors are expected to be present at their posters.

All presenting authors must have registered for the conference by early bird registration deadline date for their presentation to be included in the conference program.

Following on from the success of the awards made at the last IBC, we will again be awarding prizes for the Best Student Oral Presentation(s) and the Best Poster Presentation(s).
